L'équipe du lycée s'est déplacée à Paris du 28 au 30 mars 2012 afin de participer aux Championnats de France UNSS de badminton. Pour une première participation, nos élèves n'ont pas démérité : après être sorti 2ème de leur poule, ils finissent à une honorable 15 ème place (sur 26 participants). The CCF

Assessments during the schoolyear : the candidates are assessed on various works prepared during the half-year. They are tested by the teachers who have followed their work.

The students present the results of the studies they conducted for companies. These studies were made at school by using professional information sources and by approaching organizations and companies.

The CCF assessments represent two thirds of the exam.

The first-year placement

8 weeks from May to July at the end of the first year. It allows students to put into practice what they have learnt during the first year. Students help their companies to canvass for customers on an overseas market Students have to find their placements themselves, with the help of the teaching staff who supervises a small group.

Examples :

• A student, in Mumbai, in an Indian company selling fruit and vegetables looked for European and Asian customers and participated in the updating of the website of this company to attract new customers

• A student,in Glenrothes, in a Scottish company looked for Indian and Chinese customers and participated in designing the sales brochure and the website of the company

• A student, in Valencia, in a Spanish company selling condiments looked for customers outside Europe and participated in adapting the packagings and the sales policy of the company to the various targets.

The BTS(two-year technical degree) allows you to acquire firm foundations in 2 years thanks to the application of the theoretical knowledge.

Whether you intend to go on studying or to find a job, it is a training which is appreciated by company managers which gives you recognized skills.

Financial help

Every student can receive financial help according to the duration and the destination of the placement : from the region thanks to the operation " Region sans frontières " ;from the local education authority (about ten students benefit from this help every year) ;from the CROUS (for grant holders). Possibility of receiving a grant from their town for some students. Financial help from parents' firms in some cases.

The second- year placement

4 weeks in January-February of the second year

It allows students to put into practice their knowledge in international transport and logistics.

The student participates in the organization of the imports and exports Le Havre harbour is a privileged place to find varied companies, for the import of raw materials : cocoa, coffee, cotton, coming from all continents : substantial flows coming from China, but also a hub for French exports.

International trade

• 2/3 of international Marketing

• 1/3 of international Logistics

• Study of 2 business foreign languages

• Possible to begin a 3rd foreign language : a specificity of the Lycée Jean Prévost

• Economics -Law - Management

• General knowledge

The studies last two years according to the following weekly schedule

4 subjects are assessed by a final exam at the end of the second year. The others are assessed by CCF : assessment during the schoolyear. These assessments are based on written and oral works made by students.

The training aims at giving students operational knowledge and know-how.

This constant concern can be seen in :

• an updating of the curriculum so as to follow the evolution of practices, regulations and the international environment

• a regular application of the acquired theoretical knowledge

• the possibility to use professional tools freely

2 placements

The first- year placement abroad lasts 8 weeks ; the second- year placement can be done in France or abroad and lasts 4 weeks.

The degree

This new diploma gives students 120 ECTS, which allows them to enroll in the 3rd year in all the Bachelor's degrees of the same field ; for example International Business and Business Studies at the University of Le Havre.

The placements

An 8- week placement abroad at the end of the first year allows students to work in the sales department of a company, in a non-French-speaking country.

Students choose the country where they want to carry out their placements and look for companies which correspond to their professional objectives or to their tastes, supervised by a close teaching staff.

Developing skills and know-how

There are 35 students in the first year. The students are closely supervised by the teachers. The teaching methods and the work students have to do focus on :

Group work :

Study of foreign markets
Use of commercial software
Canvassing for customers and negotiating on foreign markets

Developing autonomy :

Students define with companies the professional tasks to be carried out and they take the necessary steps to conduct their study.

Developing communication and negotiation skills in foreign languages

The studies

2 years which allow students to find a job thanks to a diploma which is appreciated by company managers or to go on studying with high success rates

Subjects centred on international trade :

2 foreign languages and the possibility at Lycée Jean Prévost to go on or to begin studying a third foreign language : German with a teacher at the school or another language thanks to our partnership with the International Business department of the University of Le Havre or by correspondence.

The study of the international marketing, foreign market studies, canvassing of overseas markets in the first year, assessed by CCF (assessment of students' works during the schoolyear)

The study of international logistics, transport, international risk management in the second year.

The constant use of the communications tools used by companies, supervised practice of information technology, the use of resource sharing and collaborative work tools, an access to professional directories to which the school regularly subscribes and to an individual professional e-mail account, during the 3 weekly hours of business computing as well as during all the tutorial classes.
